15 Days Myanmar Including Trekking in Pindaya
(Yangon - Bagan - Mandalay - Pindaya-trekking to Yasakyi - Inle Lake - Yangon - Kyaikhtiyo - Yangon)

Day 1 :: Arrival Yangon by morning flight :: -/-/-

Our Gracious Myanmar Travel guide will welcome you on arrival at Yangon International Airport and transfer to the Hotel. Sightseeing will start in the afternoon, so you have time to relax from your long flight. You will visit the old colonial-style city centre with the gilded SULE PAGODA, city centre to see bustling rush hours, near the Sule Pagoda paper streets and proceed to China town area for afternoon stroll. An extended visit to SHWEDAGON PAGODA, one of the most spectacular religious monuments, will conclude the tour of this picturesque Garden City. The golden dome of Shwedagon Pagoda rises 98 meters above its base and is covered with 60 tons of pure gold. Overnight in Yangon.

Day 2 :: Yangon - Bagan by morning flight :: B/-/-

After breakfast domestic flight to Bagan. Upon arrival, transfer to the hotel and proceed for sightseeing at the busy local market and continue to a diverse selection of the most important Pagodas and temples such as SHWEZIGON PAGODA, which was built by King Anawratha in the early century. Continued by KU BYAUK GYI, a temple with exquisite murals of Jataka scenes, KHAY MIN GA TEMPLE which is noted for its spectacular panoramic view of the area's many monuments and ANANDA TEMPLE with four huge standing Buddha images and numerous seated figures in niches inside the gallery. Finally head for MINGALA ZEDI to observe the beautiful sunset. Stay overnight at Hotel in Bagan.

Day 3 :: Bagan :: B/-/-

After breakfast at the hotel, continue sightseeing to an old NOODLE COTTAGE and observe the daily life the people in TAUNGBI VILLAGE. After lunch you will go to nearby MYINKABA VILLAGE to see the incredible fine art of doing the famous lacquerware. Afterwards proceed to MYINGABA GU BYAUKGYI TEMPLE, noted for its ancient mural paintings under the protection of UNESCO. In the late afternoon take a boat trip (1 hrs) on the famous Ayeyarwaddy River. Stay overnight at Hotel in Bagan.

Day 4 :: Bagan - Mt. Popa - Bagan :: B/-/-

After breakfast, proceed on a scenic overland journey to Mount Popa, an extinct volcano with its shrine dedicated to animist spirits, known as "Nats". For the energetic, there is time to climb the 777 steps to the shrine at the top of the volcanic plug and enjoy the breathtaking view over the valley. In the afternoon return back to Bagan. Stay overnight at Hotel in Bagan.

Day 5 :: Bagan - Mandalay by morning flight :: B/-/-

Transfer to Bagan Airport for domestic flight to Mandalay. Upon arrival at the new Mandalay Airport proceed directly to Amarapura. Visit MAHAGANDAYON, a famous Buddhist monastery, where more than a thousand monks reside and study; continue to the 200-year-old U BEIN teak bridge, built in 1782 at the time when Amarapura was the royal capital. Visit to BAGAYA MONASTERY, with a superb collection of Buddha statues. En route, stop at a traditional hand-weaving silk workshop. Drive to Mandalay and check-in at hotel. Afternoon, proceed on a comprehensive sightseeing tour including MAHAMUNI PAGODA with its spectacular Buddha image covered with thick layers of gold leaves, SHWE INBIN, one of the most outstanding monasteries in the country, SHWE NAN DAW KYAUNG or GOLDEN PALACE MONASTERY, a superb example of a traditional wooden building and KUTHODAW PAGODA, known as the world's largest book, consisting of 729 marble slabs engraved with Buddhist scriptures. Sunset from Mandalay Hill for panoramic view over this ancient city. Overnight in Mandalay.

Day 6 :: Mandalay :: B/-/-

A boat trip on the mighty AYEYARWADDY RIVER takes us to MINGUN about 11 km (1 hour) upriver from Mandalay whereby visits include the MINGUN BELL, weighing 90 tons and being the largest un- cracked bell in the world, HSINBYUME PAYA and the unfinished MINGUN PAYA, built as one of the world's largest Cheddar by King Bodaw Paya. A visit is also made to a craftsmen's workshop to see Kalaga tapestries creation in action. Overnight in Mandalay.

Day 7 :: Mandalay - Heho - Pindaya :: B/-/-
Morning transfer to the airport for flight to Heho. After arrival, overland drive to PINDAYA (60km; 1 hours). Visit to the unique PINDAYA CAVES wherein thousands of Buddha images placed by pilgrims over many centuries. Overnight in Pindaya.

Day 8 :: Yasakyi - Pindaya - Yasakyi :: B/L/D

After breakfast at hotel, trekking will start at 8 a.m. to Sikya-inn village inhabited by the hill tribe Danu and end at 10 a.m. after trekking over 7 km for 2 hours. Take a rest for a while and have a snack and green tea. Then continue to Yasakyi village, where hill tribe Palaung live. Upon arrival around 12 noon, take a break and enjoy lunch in the monastery. Then stroll in the village and chat with the natives. Dinner will be served to you, overnight at Yasakyi village.

Day 9 :: Yasakyi - Pindaya :: B/-/-

Early morning after breakfast you will mount the Mt. Yasakyi about 7,000 ft above sea level, the spot that offers you panoramic views. Then climb down and continue to trek to Mene Taung, Pinsein Pin, Htin-shugon, Taung Baw Gyi and return to Pindaya late afternoon. Stay overnight at Hotel in Pindaya.

Day 10 :: Inle Lake - Heho - Yangon :: B/-/-

Morning proceed by road to INLE LAKE (90 km - 2 hours) and by boat to the hotel. you will drive to INLE LAKE. By boat you will discover the typical floating gardens, local methods of fishing and village life on and at the lake. Further visits are made to PHAUNG DAW OO PAGODA, the weaving village of INPAWKHON. Stay overnight at Hotel in Inle lake region.

Day 11 :: Inle Lake - Indein :: B/-/-

Early morning after breakfast, visit INDEIN VILLAGE, located at the western side of the lake. Passing NYAUNG OHAK MONASTERY and follow a stair path lined up with many hundreds o wooden columns, you finally will reach the impressive SHWE INDEIN PA-O COMPLEX. From the hillside you have great view over the lake area. On the way back to the boat, walk through a romantic bamboo forest at the riverside, where you may observe local people having a bath. Afternoon continue sightseeing on the lake. Overnight in Inle lake region.

Day 12 :: Inle Lake - Heho - Yangon :: B/-/-

After breakfast, visit local market on the lake. Afterwards drive to Heho Airport for your domestic flight to Yangon. Upon arrival, transfer to the Hotel. Rest of the day at leisure. Stay overnight at Hotel in Yangon.

Day 13 :: Yangon - Bago - Kyaikhtiyo :: B/-/-

After an early breakfast drive via Bago to KIN PUN "base camp" (194 km - 5 hours). On the way, visit KYAIK PUN PAGODA, famous for its four giant Buddhas. In Bago stop at KYAKHAT WINE monastery where you will see over 1000 Buddhist monks having their merit lunch with total silence by approx. 10:30 am.!

Continue to KYAIKHTIYO (approx. 3 hours), the Golden Rock, a huge boulder completely covered by gold leaves and delicately balanced on the edge of a cliff. From Kin Pun Base Camp, a steep and rough 11 km dirt road leads to the upper staging point, a journey made in open trucks. From there, travellers must at present walk the final stage, approximately 4 km up steep paths, which ascend some 500 m to the GOLDEN ROCK. On top of the hill, enjoy the beautiful panoramic view over the Sittaung River valley. Overnight at Hotel near Golden Rock.

* Note:
Don't forget your torch light, as it is quite dark when you return back to your Hotel after sun-set!!!

You also have the chance to get carried by SEDAN Chair which will cost approx. 10 US$ per person (on your own account)

Day 14 :: Kyaikhtiyo - Bago - Yangon :: B/-/-

After breakfast climb down to base camp and drive back to Yangon. On the way, visit Bago, the ancient Mon Capital Bago is situated 80 km northeast of Yangon. Tour highlight include a worthy visit to SHWEMAWDAW Pagoda, a pagoda that is even higher than Shwedagon Pagoda in Yangon! 

In the afternoon, a short visit to SHWETHALYAUNG, the most beautiful Reclining Buddha; On the way back to Yangon visit the ALLIED WAR CEMETERY at Htaukkyant if desired. Stay overnight at Hotel in Yangon.

*Important Note:
Due to road conditions it is not recommended to travel to Kyaikytiyo during the monsoon season (June - September).

Day 15 :: Yangon-International departure B/-/-

After breakfast, transfer to Yangon International Airport for departure. 
Here our GMT service will end and we hope to see you again in our beautiful gracious land Myanmar.
